Style your Cocktail Tables with these six affordable ideas

A great St. Louis wedding is in the details, and that includes putting thoughtful touches throughout your wedding spaces for guests to enjoy. Whether it’s a tall cocktail table or small cafe tables, here are six (6) easy and affordable ways to add style to your cocktail hour and small tables.

SO come Style Cocktail Tables with us…

Super budget-friendly and easy to do, add some gathered greenery to the base of a votive candle. This adds life to an otherwise boring votive candle.

Take this look one step further by placing a single rose head on the table with your gathered greenery. This helps tie in your wedding flowers and can be an opportunity to add a pop of color, depending on your rose color.

Easily Add Rose Petals to any Table

Rose petals are an easy way to add color to your tablescapes as well as help make the table feel more full. They work great around votives, floating candles, taper candles, and even sprinkled around escort cards or champagne displays welcoming guests. When placing your Flower Lab order, be sure to let us know how you plan on using your rose petals so that we can ensure you get the correct quantity to achieve the look you need.

An affordable way to upgrade the look of a votive candle on a cocktail table is to shower the base with rose petals. Here, we used the petals from one (1) rose head to achieve this look.

To add height and sophistication to your cocktail hour, consider placing bud vases with rose petals on your cocktail tables. For this application, we used the petals from one (1) rose head around the base of the bud vase.

Personally, I like combining these two looks to create visual interest throughout the cocktail hour. I usually place votives on the smaller cocktail tables to allow plenty of space for drinks and plates, and add bud vases to slightly larger cocktail tables. The rose petals create cohesion between the two and look absolutely luxurious without ruining my wedding budget.

Bud Vases and Petite Centerpieces

These flower arrangements are some of our favorites for hightop tables and cafe tables, as they add the most impact and are perfectly scaled to fit 48”, 36” or 30” round tables, typically used during cocktail hour.

Also, don’t forget how truly versatile bud vases are— they’re truly the unsung hero of the wedding world! They work with everything from escort card displays, added to champagne walls, paired with sundry baskets in restrooms, food displays, your bar, and so much more.

One of our more popular cocktail table centerpieces is a pair of bud vases of varying heights with a single votive. Flowers and candles— always a great pairing!

If you’re going for a more full look, our Petite Centerpieces (available in clear glass, silver plastic or gold plastic) are a beautiful touch. These also work great when placed on your gift or escort card table and along bars.

Other great uses for these budget-friendly flowers

The beauty of these floral decor options is how versatile they are for any event! All of these options work perfectly for bridal showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and any social event. They are also interchangeable amongst each other or any other decor pieces you might be using, like rentals from your venue. Mix and match as much as you wish and it always looks lovely!
